City of Carrollton


Carrollton, the county seat for Carroll County, was incorporated December 22, 1829. Carrollton, nicknamed "The Friendly City", is named after Charles Carroll's old colonial home in Chesapeake Bay, Virginia.

The city hosts the Carrollton Mayfest, an annual festival that includes arts and crafts, live entertainment, and food. Other events include the Cherry Chase (February), Taste of Carrollton (May), All-American Triathlon (July), Cherokee Rose Story telling Festival (September) and the Christmas Tree Lighting & Parade (November).
